Alfriston is a picturesque village located in the water meadows of the River Cuckmere.  Its high-street contains many interesting small shops, restaurants and pubs.  Visit the 14h century church of Saint Andrew and and the adjoining Priest House now maintained by the National Trust.  Alfriston is also a convenient centre for visiting the local area with Eastbourne, the South Downs, Drusilla's Zoo, Glyndebourne and many interesting stately homes, gardens and castles which are within striking distance.
